Tokyo Electron Device Asia Pacific Limited ("the Company", "we", "our" or "us") is aware that the appropriate protection of personal data in the Company's possession is important. This Privacy Policy ("Policy ") describes the privacy policy and practices of the Company's website ("Site") and we handle personal information in accordance with this Policy.
This Policy may be revised or updated from time to time. You are advised to visit the Site regularly to check. In using the Site, you are deemed to have read through and accepted any change to our Policy.
By visiting the Site or providing us with your personal data, you are consenting to this Policy and the collection, use, transfer, storage and processing of your personal data in accordance with this Policy.
In this Policy, the term "personal data" means any data relating directly or indirectly to you, from which it is practicable for your identity to be directly or indirectly ascertained, and in a form in which access to or processing of the data is practicable.

1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

The Company shall comply with the data protection principles and relevant provisions under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap.486 of the Laws of Hong Kong) ("the Ordinance").

2. Acquisition and Use

When acquiring personal information, the Company shall specify the purposes of use and provide notice or publicly announce those purposes and shall handle personal information in accordance with those purposes. Provision of personal information is not mandatory but if you fail to supply the personal information required, the Company may not be able to provide the specific products or services in full to you.

3. Purposes of Use

The purposes for which we may use your personal data will vary depending on the type of products and/or services.
The Company shall use personal data within the scope of the purposes set forth below.

Personal information regarding customers and business partners (in the case of corporations, their officers and employees):

3)To register the use of provided services
4)To provide information on, operate, and manage events (various seminars, exhibits, workshops, training, and so on) and various campaigns that the Company holds (sponsors, co-sponsors, or supports)
5)To conduct business talks and meetings, to perform contracts, and to renew contracts
6)To respond to inquiries and requests
7)To conduct marketing, research, analysis, and various questionnaires for the purposes of quality improvement and enhancement of products and services
8)To manage customer and business partner information
9)To conduct surveys and communications regarding compliance
10)To conduct communications during emergencies

Information received through responses to questionnaires administered at events (various seminars, exhibits, workshops, training, and so on) that the Company holds (sponsors, co-sponsors, or supports) may be provided to third parties in Japan and other countries with the consent of the concerned individuals for the purpose of proposing products, services, and support.

4. Provision to Third Parties

Except in the cases set forth below, the Company will not provide personal data to third parties.

(1)When the consent of the concerned individual is obtained;
(2)When provision is required pursuant to laws and regulations;
(3)When necessary for the protection of human life or person or for the protection of property and it would be difficult to obtain the consent of the concerned individual;
(4)When particularly necessary to enhance public health or promote the sound development of children and it would be difficult to obtain the consent of the concerned individual;
(5)When it is necessary to cooperate with the performance of administration by the government or a governmental body as prescribed in laws and regulations and notifying the concerned individual would impede the performance of such administration;
(6)Provision to third party service provider who provides legal, auditing, computer, data processing and/or other services to the Company in connection with the operation of its business and/or the relevant product(s) and/or service(s) that you seek from us; and
(7)Provision to Tokyo Electron Device Limited ("TED"), the Company's parent company in Japan, which provides storage of the personal information collected by the Company.

The parties to whom we disclose and/or transfer your personal data may be situated outside of Hong Kong where there may not be in place data protection laws which are substantially similar to, or serve the same purposes as, the Ordinance.

5. Management of Service Providers

In cases where the Company outsources the development and/or maintenance of its IT systems, it shall take appropriate measures to protect personal information within the scope of the outsourced services.

6. Security Management

The Company shall take necessary measures and perform appropriate management to prevent leaks, loss, alteration, and so on of personal information, and shall perform necessary and appropriate supervision of its officers, employees and service providers who handle personal data.

7. Joint Use

In some instances, the Company engages in joint use of personal data with group companies including overseas subsidiaries of TED.

8. Requests for Access and Correction

You have a right to request access to, and the correction and erasure of, your personal data in accordance with, where applicable, the provision of the Ordinance.

Request for access, correction and/or erasure of personal data, as well as withdrawal of consent, where applicable, should be made by sending an email request to our Personal Information Protection Manager at tedapac-pri-info@teldevice.co.jp. The Company will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to your personal data to protect your privacy and identity.

Cookie

The Company's Site uses Cookie to display optimal information in order to enhance the convenience of Site users and for statistical analysis of viewing status and so on.

1. What are Cookie?

A Cookie is a small text file that is saved on the customer's computer (or other device that can access the Internet such as a smartphone or tablet) when accessing the Site. By using Cookie, the Company is able to obtain information such as the number of times that a computer has accessed the Site and which pages were viewed. The Site also uses technologies that are similar to Cookie including pixel tags and JavaScript to collect information. In this Policy, Cookie and these other similar technologies are collectively referred to as "Cookie."

The Cookie function can be disabled using the settings of your Web browser. Even if Cookie are disabled, it is still possible to use the Site. The Company uses Cookie for the purposes described below.

Supplementary Information

The Company is not responsible for protecting the personal information of customers on third-party websites linked on the Site.
